MEASURING PATENT NOVELTY USING NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING

Abstract This paper develops a novelty measure for patents. We devise text-based using natural language processing (NLP) techniques. The proposed method is applied on patents that belong to common category, which represents subset of under specific patent class. then extract the novelty-value profile those and discuss use case product design development (i.e., extracting predicting inventive value).
